The German Three Cushion Championship 2016/17 (DDM) was the 82nd edition of this tournament series and took place from November 10th to 13th, 2016 in Bad Wildungen , Hesse .

mode

In the group stage, 16 players in four groups (A – D) played in ( round robin mode ) on 30 points with a kick . The two best in the group advance to the final round (quarter-finals). There, 40 points are played in KO mode. In the event of a tie in the follow-up, a penalty shoot-out takes place .

Tournament commentary

Ronny Lindemann from BCC Witten 1931 caused a surprise in the quarter-finals by improving the series record in German championships of 15 held by Siegfried Spielmann by one point to 16. At the age of 62, this is likely to be the longest-running billiard record in Germany. Lindemann was able to continue to show a strong performance and beat the defending champion Christian Rudolph in the final and win his first title.
