The German Three Cushion Championship 1949 (DDM) was the 17th edition of this tournament series and took place from March 24th to 27th in Düsseldorf , North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

August Tiedtke set Otto Unshelm's previous record of four victories in a row. As early as 1947, he had set the record, also held by Unshelm, of six overall titles. That year he won his eighth three-cushion title. This should not change until 1954, only then would he be defeated by the title holder from 1939, Ernst Rudolph . As so often before, Tiedtke won without losing power. All the best performances were also on his account, even if he had to share that of the top series (HS) of seven with the fifth-placed Willy Pesch. Siegfried Spielmann was able to make up for his mediocre performance from the previous year and became runner-up.

mode

It played "everyone against everyone" ( round-robin mode ) to 50 points with a push .
