The German three-cushion championship 1991/92 (DDM) was the 58th edition of this tournament series and took place from January 30th to February 2nd, 1992 in Erfurt .
history
The local organizer and host on behalf of the German Billiards Association (DBB) was SV Turbine Erfurt. The tournament was played in the Waidspeicher Theater.
Edgar Bettzieche from Bochum won his second German three-cushion championship title after 1986 in Erfurt. In a very close final against Arno Figge from Essen, Bettzieche won the fifth and thus decisive set very narrowly with 15:14. Christian Zöllner, who was new from Bernburg, won the match for third place against defending champion Hans-Jürgen Kühl, also just 3-2 sets.
In Billard Sport Magazin, as the billiard newspaper was called back then, the results were unfortunately published very incompletely. The first winning round and the complete losing round were not printed out.
mode
The tournament was played for the first time in the double knockout system. Here there was a winning round in which the last two remaining contested the final. The losers in the first round were able to qualify for the game for third place via the losers round. The whole tournament was played in the set system up to 15 points with two winning sets and three winning sets with follow-up in the final . The final placement was based on the following criteria:
- Match points (MP)
- Sentence points (SP)
- General average (GD)
- Maximum series (HS)
