The German Three Cushion Championship 1942 (DDM) was the fourteenth edition of this tournament series and took place for the first time from January 29th to February 1st in Munich , Bavaria .

history

It was the third and final "war championship" before the tournament was suspended until 1947 due to the war. The number of participants had dropped back to eight players.

The defending champion Otto Unshelm could not keep his form from the previous year and only ended up third from last, at the same time it was his last participation and August Tiedtke had lost his strongest opponent. With Tiedtke's younger brother Gert , Ernst Rudolph , Siegfried Spielmann and Walter Lütgehetmann , strong players followed, but August Tiedtke remained the undisputed German three-cushion champion until 1955. This time he only gave up one game and played a draw against Walter Feller . The tournament best performances of the general average (GD) and the best individual average (BED) also went to him again. Gerd Thielens played the best series (HS) with 9 points. Georg Berrisch won his sixth runner-up title. It should have been his last medal rank and also his last three-cushion championship.

mode

It played "everyone against everyone" ( round-robin mode ) to 50 points with a push .
