The German Three Cushion Championship 1948 (DDM) was the 16th edition of this tournament series and took place from February 19th to 22nd in Solingen , North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

As in the previous year, the DDM was held again in Solingen, which means that the city has hosted this tournament three times. The winner was again the defending champion August Tiedtke who secured his seventh title without losing a match and for the third time played a best individual average (BED) over 1,000 (1.086, it was the fourth overall in the DDM). He also secured the best performance in the general average (GD) and that of the top series (HS), which he shared with Kurt Hartkopf. August's younger brother Gert did not get a medal this time in his second DDM participation, he had to put up with a thankless fourth place in the final ranking. This was his last participation until 1952. Kurt Hartkopf came in second place when there was a tie with Willy Willems due to the better GD. The reigning runner-up, Ernst Halbach, only achieved fifth place. Siegfried Spielmann could not win any of his games and ended up in last place without a win.

mode

It played "everyone against everyone" ( round-robin mode ) to 50 points with a push .
