The local organizer and host on behalf of the German Billard Association (DBB) was the Gladbeck Billard Union. The comprehensive school Rentfort-Nord, which was able to provide the appropriate equipment with its grandstands, was used as the venue.
Again a new game system was introduced for the German billiard championships. For the first time, all carom disciplines were decided in one tournament. There was also a very good host in the comprehensive school Rentfort-Nord in Gladbeck. The tournament was broadcast on radio and television. Günter Siebert , who moved to Duisburg-Hochfeld, won his fourth German three -league title in Gladbeck. In the final, he defeated last year's winner Dieter Müller from Berlin with 2-0 sets.

The games were played in the qualification groups up to 50 points or 75 shots. In the final round, two sets of wins up to 25 points were played. The entire tournament was played with a push . The final placement was based on the following criteria:

The first German three-cushion championship (DDM) took place in Mainz in 1929. The season in which it was played is given. Sometimes two championships were played in one year (spring / autumn). The last pre-war championship took place in the spring of 1939.
