The three-cushion world championship in 1938 was the eleventh tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place in Buenos Aires from September 14 to 25, 1938 . It was the first three-cushion world championship in South America and the last before World War II . Thus, the planned World Cup 1939 in Strasbourg was canceled .
history
Argentina joined UIFAB in 1937 and hosted the World Cup in 1938. There were many good pool players in Argentina at that time. Thus, in Augusto Vergez , an Argentine also won the title with two new world records. He screwed the overall average (GD) to 0.884 and the individual average (BED) together with the German August Tiedtke to 1.162 . The tournament took place in a theater that had space for 2,000 spectators. The total number of viewers was put at 15,000.
