The three-cushion world championship in 1965 was the 20th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from May 12 to 16, 1965 in Hilversum . It was the world championship for the 1964/65 season. Up until now it was the only time that two three-cushion World Cups took place in one calendar year.

history

Raymond Ceulemans confidently secured the third world title in three cushion with eight games won. For the first time with Kōya Ogata an Asian took part in the three-cushion World Cup. He took an excellent third place. If he hadn't lost two games (against Ceulemans and Scherz) very narrowly with 60:59, maybe even the big sensation would have been possible.

mode

“Everyone against everyone” was played with 60 points.

The Peruvian Adolfo Suárez Perret was not allowed to start and flew to the World Cup at his own risk, trying to convince those responsible, but without success. So he had to watch the tournament from the stands.
