history

The Argentine Pedro Leopoldo Carrera was the first player to play more than 1,000 in the general average (GD) in a world championship . The new world record was 1.070 after the tournament . Defending champion René Vingerhoedt secured the new world record for the best individual average ( BED ) with 1.612 .

After the final game between Carrera and August Tiedtke had been determined, the host moved the final from Casal de Cataluna to the larger Luna Park at short notice due to Tiedtke's popularity . 15,000 spectators attended this game. A number of spectators that has not been reached at billiards until today.
