The three-cushion world championship in 1953 was the 14th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from October 2 to 11, 1953 in Antwerp . It was the first three-cushion world championship in Europe after the end of the war.

history

For the first time the historical " Stadfeestzaal " from 1908 was played. In 1974 it was supposed to be the venue for the World Cup again, before it was almost completely destroyed by fire in 2000. In 2013 the “Lotto Arena” was used as a World Cup venue.

The Argentines showed once again that they were the best three-cushion players in the world at the time. Once again there were two medals. Enrique Navarra won for the first time . In the last and decisive game against René Vingerhoedt he showed good nerves and won just 50:49 in 59 shots. The municipal ballroom was an excellent tournament venue and was sold out every day with 3,000 visitors.

In a final round "everyone against everyone" was played with 50 points.
