The three-cushion world championship 2011 took place from July 12th to 16th in the Peruvian capital Lima . It was the third World Cup in Peru after 1966 and 1979.
history
The Dutchman Dick Jaspers won his third world title in three cushion in Lima. In the semifinals against defending champion Daniel Sánchez , Jaspers set a new best individual average (BED) of 4,500 at world championships. He improved his own best from the previous year. The steadily growing Koreans brought three players into the quarter-finals for the first time. But this time it wasn't enough to win a medal. The Belgian Frédéric Caudron is after Torbjörn Blomdahl (1997 and 2010) and Dick Jaspers (2010) the third billiard player who could finish a world championship tournament with over 2 general average (GD).
