The three-cushion world championship in 1936 was the ninth tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from April 9 to 17, 1936 in New York City . It was the first three-cushion world championship in North America .

history

Edward Lee ruled the tournament. He won all games and also held all tournament records. In addition, he set a new world record in the GD with 0.859 . The European players didn't quite agree with the material and tournament conditions. Among other things, they played on a wine-red cloth and a yellow ball was used instead of the red one. Despite everything, it was by far the best world championship to date in terms of performance. August Tiedtke started for Germany for the first time and was to dominate the three-cushion game in Germany for the next 25 years.

mode

In a final round "everyone against everyone" was played with 50 points.
