The three-cushion world championship in 1964 was the 19th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from 23 to 28 June 1964 in Ostend .
history
Raymond Ceulemans owed the world championship title to his compatriot Raymond Steylaerts . In the direct match against Marcelo H. Lopez, Ceulemans had clearly lost 41:60 in 39 shots. The very defensive game of Steylaert against Lopez ended after 75 shots with the closest of all results: 60:59. Even the new series world record of 15 points in this game was not enough for Lopez to win. Thus there was a tie game with a tie of 16: 2. In this Ceulemans prevailed with 60:53 in 52 shots and thus secured his second world title in three-cushion.
mode
“Everyone against everyone” was played with 60 points.
