The three-cushion world championship in 1963 was the 18th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from October 2 to 6, 1963 in Neuss . It was the second three-cushion world championship in Germany after 1937.

history

Raymond Ceulemans set two new world records with his first three-cushion world title. He improved the old record in the general average (GD) from his teacher René Vingerhoedt from 1.089 to 1.307 and the best individual average (BED), held by René Vingerhoedt and August Tiedtke , from 1.612 to 2.068 . He achieved the new world record in the BED against defending champion Adolfo Suárez . He won 60:20 in 29 shots.

The game was played in two preliminary round groups “everyone against everyone” with a score of 60 points. The groups consisted of 5 players each. The last two in the group were eliminated, but still played out ninth place.
