The three-cushion world championship 1983 was the 38th tournament in this discipline of carom billiards and took place from May 3rd to 8th 1983 in Aix-les-Bains . It was the second three-cushion World Cup in France 51 years after 1932 in Vichy .

history

After two years of absence, Raymond Ceulemans was back. Despite losing to Richard Bitalis , he secured his 18th world title in three cushion thanks to the better general average (GD). The defending champion Rini van Bracht was without a medal for the first time since his World Cup debut in 1971. For the first time a Swede took part in a three-cushion World Cup tournament. With Torbjörn Blomdahl , a changing of the guard in three cushions became apparent. He will shape the next few years in three cushion billiards.

mode

“Everyone against everyone” was played with 60 points.
