Daniel Sánchez (actually Daniel Sánchez Gálvez , born March 3, 1974 in Santa Coloma de Gramenet ) is a Spanish , professional carom player .

His first big success was reaching the final of the three-cushion world championship in 1996 in Hattingen , Westphalia , which he lost to Christian Rudolph from Cologne . In 1997 he won the three-cushion European championship against Jean-Christophe Roux . In 1998 he made it to the final of the World Cup for the second time and won the tournament against the Swede Torbjörn Blomdahl .

In 2000 he won the European Championship for the second time against the then defending champion Semih Saygıner from Turkey. In 2005 he won the World Cup for the second time, this time against Jean Paul de Bruijn from the Netherlands. In 2007 he made it to the final of the World Cup again, but was defeated by the Japanese Ryūji Umeda . His third three-cushion European title followed in 2009 and his third world title in 2010.

Sánchez also won gold medals in three cushion at the 2001 and 2005 World Games (both in the final against Dick Jaspers ). After winning the Spanish three-cushion championship for the first time in 1994, he drew level with previous record holder Joaquín Domingo in 2006 (10 times champion between 1940 and 1960) and won all titles from 1998 to 2009, 12 times in a row. In 2010 and 2011 he then had to admit defeat to up-and-coming young players Javier Palazón and Antonio Ortiz, but won his crown back on July 1, 2012 in Madrid .

He won his fourth world title in 2016 against four-time youth world champion Kim Haeng-jik from Korea in Bordeaux . Shortly afterwards, he won the Lausanne Billard Masters invitation tournament against Frédéric Caudron for the first time , having won the bronze medal in 2014. In October, Sanchez won his 11th silver medal at the World Cup in La Baule , France , when he lost 20:40 in the final against Murat Naci Çoklu from Turkey.

After three years of abstinence from the tournament, Sanchez won his 19th Spanish three-hand title in Los Narejos ( Murcia ) at the end of January 2020 with a new tournament record of 2,410. At the beginning of the year he switched to his new sponsor “Predator” and played with a new cue.
