The Hummelsee is an approximately eight hectare large and up to nine meters deep lake in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg . It is located in the Hummelsbüttel district , between Glashütter Landstrasse and Kiwittredder.

history

The lake was created in 1982.

Sand and gravel mining in the Hummelsbüttler Feldmark

After the end of the dredging, the pits were backfilled, ie used as a landfill . One of the pits remained partially open. The area in question formed the basis for the creation of the Hummelsee.

The lake is used as a local recreation area. At its edge there are green landfill areas .

Fishing

Different types of fish can be found in the Hummelsee. The lake is one of the leased waters of the Angelsport -Verband Hamburg e. V.
