Location of Hundorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Hundorf is a district of the municipality of Seehof in the south of the district of Northwest Mecklenburg in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) and is administered by the Lützow-Lübstorf office based in the municipality of Lützow . Hundorf has two bus stops and a public swimming area. Many residents offer holiday apartments to vacationers. Hundorf is dominated by agriculture: while in the east it adjoins the Schwerin outer lake, in the west it is surrounded by large conventionally farmed arable land. A few residents still keep animals. The Elderberry Trail, which begins at the center of the village, leads into a valley area characterized by the Ice Age, which is used as a cow pasture.

geography

Hundorf on the west bank of the Schweriner See (northern part, outer lake ) is surrounded by Lübstorf in the north and Seehof in the south. All three places are connected by the district road 42, which, due to a 30 km zone in Wickendorf, has a much longer travel time than the federal road 106, which connects Schwerin- Medewege and Lübstorf via Kirch Stück .

history

Hundorf was first mentioned in a document in 1171. The name Seehof was given in 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich of Mecklenburg for the districts of Wickendorf (now part of Schwerin) and Hundorf.

Local traffic connection

A city bus connection (line 8, Schwerin local transport ) connects Hundorf directly to Schwerin main station and Lübstorf .
