The Huronensee nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northeast of the core city of Münster. The B 219 runs to the west and the Dortmund-Ems Canal flows on the eastern edge of the area . The 228.2 hectare nature reserve (NSG) Rieselfelder Münster extends northwest and the 12.39 hectare NSG Gelmerheide to the west .
