The nature reserve Emsaue (MS-008) is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends north of the core city of Münster and north of Gelmer , a district of Münster, along the Ems , which flows on the northern edge . West passes the A 1 , flows east of Dortmund Ems channel which runs B 481 and extending the 132.4 ha large protected area Emsaue (MS-013) . To the south stretches of about 6.75 hectares Gittruper See , a former quarry pond .
