history

In 1083, Bishop Burchard I from Halberstadt donated the castle and village of Huysburg to the new Benedictine monastery Huysburg. As a result, the previous residents were forced to leave their homes and settle in the area. Some of the displaced families chose the northern gorge of the Huywald and called this their "new" site, Neinstedt am Huy.

Until 1991 the former music director and composer of the Halberstadt theater Hans Auenmüller lived in Huy-Neinstedt. After his death he was buried in the Huy-Neinstedter cemetery, where his grave can still be seen today.

On April 1, 2002, the community Huy-Neinstedt together with the other ten communities of the dissolved administrative community Huy formed the new community Huy .

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on July 12, 1995 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : “Split by silver and red; topped with a green shamrock. "

The community colors are white and red.

The present draft is the heraldic and graphic revision of an unconfirmed coat of arms that has been in use for decades. The splitting of the silver over red shield symbolizes membership of the Halberstadt diocese. The green shamrock indicates the fertile pastures of the Huy and Vorharz landscape, the trinity of its leaves means the health of the earth, the air and the water of the municipality.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Erika Fiedler .
