The Pfennigblättrige St. John's Wort ( Hypericum nummularium ) is a plant from the genus of hypericum ( Hypericum ) in the family of hypericaceae (Hypericaceae).
description
The Pfennigblättrige St. John's wort is a perennial , woody plant at the base, which reaches heights of growth of 8 to 30 cm. It has several arching ascending, stem -round, very thin stems . The opposite leaves are up to 1.6 cm long and about as wide; the greatest width is below the center. On the underside and on the edge of the leaves there are yellow-brown, sessile glands.
The five bracts are yellow, occasionally veined red, serrated on the edge and black-glandular. The sepals are up to 5 mm long, their edge is black-glandular. The stamens are fused into three clusters at the base. The flowering period extends from July to August.
Occurrence
This species occurs in the southwestern Alps ( Savoy , Dauphiné ), in northern Spain and in the Pyrenees . It can be found in the montane to subalpine level at altitudes of 1000 to 2000 m on rocky slopes and moist limestone cliffs.
