The Hyundai 5000 is a standard container ship from the South Korean shipbuilding company Hyundai Heavy Industries .

The Panmax ships of the Hyundai 5000 series have been built in various designs at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Mokpo since the early 2000s and delivered to different clients. The Santa P class of the Claus-Peter Offen shipping company , for example, consisted entirely of ships of the type.
The ships are set up for the transport of dangerous cargo and, depending on the construction variant, have a container storage capacity between around 4800 TEU and over 5000 TEU. With a homogeneous loading of 14 ton containers the capacity is around 3300 TEU. Depending on the variant, 550 to well over 1000 connections are available for refrigerated containers. All ships have superstructures three quarters aft and have six cargo holds equipped with cell guides , the 17 hatches of which are closed with pontoon hatch covers. Five of the holds are in front of the deckhouse, one behind. The ship's propulsion system consists of a two-stroke diesel engine that acts directly on the fixed propeller. A frequently used main engine type is the Sulzer Wärtsilä 9RTA96C with 51,480 kW, which enables a speed of up to 25.5 knots - but other engine types were also installed. The berthing and casting off maneuvers are supported by a bow thruster .
