I, the Breather (often simply I the Breather or ITB ) was an American metalcore band from Baltimore , Maryland that was formed in 2009 and split up in 2016.

history

The band was formed in August 2009 by singer Shawn Spann, bassist Armand Vincent, drummer Morgan Wright and guitarists Justin Huffman and Jered Youngbar. A short time later, the band reached a contract with Sumerian Records . They recorded their debut album These Are My Sins with producer Durv Viswanathan and released it on December 7, 2010 on the label. This was followed by appearances in the USA.

The next album Truth and Purpose was released on February 28, 2012 via Sumerian Records. On May 4th the music video for False Profit was released.

On September 3, 2015, the musicians announced the breakup of the band after a farewell tour in November. The final concert will be on November 22nd, 2015 in Allentown , Pennsylvania .

style

The band plays metalcore, which is described as a fusion of August Burns Red and Born of Osiris . The use of tapping the electric guitar is also particularly characteristic .
