ING Cup 2005/06
The ING Cup 2005/06 was the 37th staging of the National List A cricket - Championship in Australia . The competition was held between October 14, 2005 and February 26, 2006 between six Australian first-class representations of the states. In the final, New South Wales beat South Australia with 1 wicket .
format
The six teams played eight games in a group against the other teams. There were four points for a win, two for a draw or no result and no point for a loss. A bonus point was awarded if, in one sense, one's own run number exceeded that of the opponent by 1.25 times, and another point if it was even more than twice the opponent's. Furthermore, it was possible that teams were deducted points if, for example, they played too slowly. The group first and second qualified for the final.
