The IX Abierto Colombiano de Squash Club El Nogal 2006 took place from September 19 to 24, 2006 in Bogotá , Colombia . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2006/07 and belonged to Category 2 Star . It was endowed with US $ 20,000.

Defending champion was Peter Barker , who also reached the final this year. In this he defeated Miguel Ángel Rodríguez with 11: 6, 13:11 and 11: 7, which he won the tournament for the second time in a row.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Javier Castilla a spot in the main draw.
