Written and produced was I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown. The song was in the Criteria Studios (Miami, Florida, USA) on May 6, 1965 added . James Brown's band at the time was the James Brown Orchestra: 

I Got You (I Feel Good) was released in November 1965 on the A-side (2:44) of a single on the King label with I Can't Help It (I Just Do-Do-Do) as the B-side (2: 35).

Alternative recording and live version

As early as September 1964, Brown recorded a slightly shorter version (2:27) under the title I Got You with a significantly smaller cast (seven instead of 14 musicians). This is included on the album Out of Sight as well as on the box set Star Time .

For the album Live at the Apollo - Volume II in 1968 was I Got You (I Feel Good) on the set list , but the song by Brown and his band was at the concert accelerated in a little and strong shortened version (0: 30) presented.

Charts and reception

I Got You (I Feel Good) is the most successful single James Brown has ever released: number 3 on the Billboard Singles Chart .

In the list of 500 best songs of all time the music magazine Rolling Stone reached I Got You (I Feel Good) place 78th
