action
I Cannibali is a contemporary Antigone adaptation that brings fascism into the present. Countless corpses lie in the streets, subways and in the squares. Passers-by pass or step over them as if they mean nothing. The dead are victims of a failed uprising and a threat to its sympathizers: it is strictly forbidden to look after them. Antigone wants to find her brother and bury him. A strange man who speaks an unfamiliar language washes up on the seashore and offers to help. Together they try to bury the dead, but are discovered and killed. Even so, other young people follow their example and try to bury the other dead, defying the government.
