Ian Tomlinson (athlete)
Ian Tomlinson ( Ian Ross Tomlinson; born February 27, 1936 in Perth , † January 26, 1995 in Melbourne ) was an Australian long and triple jumper .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , he won the triple jump and was fourth in the long jump. In 1960 he was ninth in the triple jump at the Olympic Games in Rome and was eliminated in the long jump in qualification.
In 1962 he defended his triple jump title at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth and finished sixth in the long jump. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he did not get beyond the preliminary round in both disciplines.
Six times he was Australian champion in the triple jump (1957-1959, 1962, 1964, 1965) and once in the long jump (1963).
