İbrahim Yazıcı

İbrahim Yazıcı (born January 28, 1948 in Bursa , † May 7, 2013 in Bursa) was a Turkish businessman, politician and football official. He was the president of the Turkish sports club Bursaspor since October 16, 2007 and carried out this activity until his death. During this tenure, the club achieved the greatest success in the club's history as Turkish football champions in the 2009/10 season .

Yazıcı obtained the general university entrance qualification in his home town of Bursa and then worked in the tourism industry. He later founded his own tourism company, Yazıcı Turizm Şirketler Grubu, and then owned several hotels.

In the 1990s, Yazıcı began to be politically active. He was elected as a member of parliament in his home province of Bursa in Turkey's 20th government . He participated in the elections as a member of the Anavatan Partisi . For the following term of office he was elected as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in the province of Muğla . This time he was elected as a member of the Doğru Yol Partisi .

Football official

Yazıcı was elected president of the Turkish sports club Bursaspor for the first time in 1988 and remained in that office for four years. During this time, the football club always occupied the top third of the table. In addition, you could prevail against Fenerbahçe Istanbul in 1992 and won the Prime Minister's Cup .

In October 2007, Yazıcı became president of Bursaspor for the second time . In his second term of office, the club achieved the greatest successes in the club's history. In the 2011/12 season they finished the league in 8th place in the table, but reached the final in the Turkish Football Cup of the 2011/12 season . Here they lost 4-0 to Fenerbahçe Istanbul and thus missed the second cup win in the club's history.

Since 2012, Yazıcı has suffered several heart attacks . Most recently, he suffered a heart attack after the first division game Orduspor - Bursaspor on May 4, 2013 and was then in a coma for three days . He died on May 7, 2013 from the consequences of this last heart attack.
