I am never afraid! (Dutch: Ik ben Echt niet bang ! , English: I'm Never Afraid ! , Alternative title: I don't know fear. ) Is a 2010 award-winning Dutch documentary director Willem Baptist about Mack Bouwense, an eight-year-old motocross rider who is a has a mirrored heart ( dextrocardia ).
The film premiered at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and was shown at more than 90 film festivals around the world. He has won several international awards, including a Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival , the Documentary Short Grand Jury Prize at the Atlanta Film Festival, and a Kinderkast Jury Award Non-Fiction at the Cinekid Festival. In 2011 the documentary was nominated for a prize for best children's program by the Dutch Institute for Sound and Vision . In an interview during the international children's film festival Lucas in Frankfurt, the director explains that the film is based on his own childhood.
I am never afraid! was broadcast in the Netherlands by VPRO on November 20, 2010. In the German-speaking countries, Arte's film was broadcast under the title Kleine Große Helden - I don't know fear and in French-speaking countries as "Même pas peur".
