Ichilo (also: Colorado Ichilo ) is a town in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Ichilo is a village in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Yapacaní and is located in the province of Ichilo on the upper reaches of the Río Ichilo , on a river terrace in the triangle between the Río Ichilo , the Río Colorado and the Río Alto Ichilo . The place is five kilometers east of the border with the Department of Cochabamba .

Ichilo lies to the east of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental on the edge of the Bolivian lowlands.
The annual average temperature of the region is around 24 ° C (see climate diagram Santa Fe de Yapacaní) and fluctuates only marginally between almost 21 ° C in June and July and a good 26 ° C from November to January. The annual precipitation is about 1800 mm, with monthly precipitation between 60 mm in July and average maximum values of 200 to 300 mm in the summer months from December to February.
The Amboró National Park extends south of Ichilo on the north-eastern slopes of the Cordillera .
Transport network
Ichilo is 150 kilometers by road northwest of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department.
From Santa Cruz, the Ruta 4 highway runs for 105 kilometers via Warnes to the provincial capital Buena Vista , from there via Yapacaní in a westerly direction to Cochabamba and the Chilean border. Seventeen kilometers after Yapacaní, an unpaved side road branches off in a southerly direction and after another 28 kilometers you reach the Ichilo settlement .
