Ichilo is a province in the northwestern part of the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

founding

The province was established by decree of April 8, 1926 . Its name goes back to the Ichilo River , which flows through the province.

location

The province of Ichilo borders in the north with the department Beni , in the west with the department Cochabamba , in the southwest with the province Manuel María Caballero , in the south with the province Florida , in the southeast with the province Andrés Ibáñez , in the east with the province Sara , and in the northeast to the province of Ñuflo de Chávez .
