The Rio Ichilo is the right source river of the Río Mamoré , which flows over the Rio Madeira to the Amazon . It is a Bolivian river at the foot of the Eastern Andes - Cordillera in South America .

course

The Río Ichilo rises in the province of Manuel María Caballero in the department of Santa Cruz at an altitude of 2437  m , at the foothills of the Serranía Racete , and bears the name " Alto Ichilo " (Upper Ichilo) there.

In the further course, after the union with the Río San Matéo , it then gets its real name, Ichilo . After the city of Puerto Villarroel , the Chimoré flows into it, which is often counted as the upper reaches of the Mamoré due to its high water volume . Now the Ichilo flows almost exactly north and for a while it forms the border between the Departamento Cochabamba and the Departamento Santa Cruz . Finally it unites at Puerto Aurora with the Río Chapare to the Río Mamoré .
