Ángel Sandoval is a province in the eastern part of the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state Bolivia . The province is named in honor of the Bolivian legal scholar, judicial officer and writer Ángel Sandoval .

location

The province is one of fifteen provinces in the Santa Cruz Department. It borders the Republic of Brazil to the east and north , the province of José Miguel de Velasco to the northwest , the province of Chiquitos to the southwest , and the province of Germán Busch to the southeast . It extends between 16 ° 16 'and 18 ° 0' south latitude and 57 ° 37 'and 59 ° 30' west longitude, its east-west extent is 100 to 180 kilometers, its north-south extent 210 kilometers. The capital of the province is San Matías with 6,267 inhabitants ( 2012 census ).
