Buena Vista is a country town in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American landlocked state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Buena Vista is the central place and administrative capital of the Ichilo Province . It is located at an altitude of 395 m above sea level on the right bank of the Río Ichilo , 90 kilometers northwest of the department capital Santa Cruz .

Buena Vista is located in the humid tropical climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . Before colonization, the region was covered by tropical rain and wet forests, but is now mostly cultivated land .
The mean average temperature of the region is just under 24 ° C (see Warnes climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate between 20 ° C in June / July and 26 ° C from November to February. The annual precipitation is about 1300 mm, the monthly precipitation is productive and lies between 35 mm in August and 200 mm in January.

Buena Vista is 99 kilometers by road northwest of Santa Cruz , the capital of the department.
Buena Vista is located on the 1,657 kilometer long highway Ruta 4 , which crosses the entire country from Tambo Quemado on the Chilean border in a west-east direction and leads to Puerto Suárez on the Brazilian border. It leads via Cochabamba , Villa Tunari , Yapacaní and San Carlos to Buena Vista and on via Santa Cruz , Pailón and Roboré to Puerto Suárez. The road is completely paved from the Chilean border to Pailón, only further on is it unpaved.
