Icon in Me is a Russian thrash metal band from Moscow that was formed in 2007.

history

The band was founded in November 2007 by guitarist D. Frans. Guitarist Artyom Sherbakov, drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen and bassist Konstantin joined the band within the next two months. In Jacob Hansen's studio ( Destruction , Mercenary , Raunchy ) they rehearsed a few songs and began recording in early November. Meanwhile, D. Frans looked around for a singer and found a suitable cast in January 2008 with Tony J. Jelencovich. They finished recording in October. The band also played their first appearance as the opening act for Machine Head in Moscow. In February 2009 the band signed a contract with Massacre Records and released their debut album Human Museum in early May.

This was followed by a tour of Russia with Lamb of God . In the same year an online EP was also released, on which three cover versions of Sepultura , Ultravox and Faith No More could be heard.

In mid-July 2011, the band released their second album, Head Break Solution . The album featured (ex) members of bands like Megadeth , The Haunted or Nightrage .

style

The singing alternates between guttural and clear singing. The use of blast beats on the drums is characteristic. The guitar passages are kept melodic.
