The Idaho State University (also ISU is called) any State University in Pocatello in the US state of Idaho . The main campus is in Pocatello. There are field offices in Idaho Falls , Boise and Twin Falls . There are 12,805 students (2020) enrolled at the university.

Idaho State University's Department of Pharmacy is one of the best in the western United States.

history

On March 11, 1901, the Idaho government decided to establish the university as the Academy of Idaho, and by 1910 300 students were enrolled. In 1915 it was renamed the Idaho Technical Institute and in 1927 it was converted into a branch of the University of Idaho called the University of Idaho - South . In 1947 it was renamed Idaho State College . About 2,000 students were enrolled at the time. The last name change to the current name Idaho State University took place in 1963. The current president of the university is Arthur C. Vailas.

Sports

The Idaho State University sports team is the ISU Bengals . The university is part of the Big Sky Conference .
