Twin Falls is the county seat and the largest city in Twin Falls County in the US state of Idaho . According to the 2010 census , Twin Falls has 44,125 residents.
Twin Falls is also the largest city in the Magic Valley region on the Snake River Plain and the seventh largest in Idaho. As the largest city within a 160 km radius, Twin Falls serves as a regional center for both southern Idaho and northwestern Nevada .
history
It is believed that humans have lived in the Twin Falls area for possibly 14,500 years. Excavations in Wilson Butte Cave near Twin Falls in 1959 revealed signs of human activity, including arrowheads, which are among the oldest finds in North America. More recently, the region has been ruled by Indian tribes, mainly the Shoshone tribe .
The first people of European descent to set foot in the Twin Falls region were participants in an expedition led by Wilson Price Hunt in 1811 and 1812.
