Iglbach (Ortenburg)

Iglbach was the name of a community that existed in the Vilshofen district . Today your area belongs to the Ortenburg market in the district of Passau .

The former municipality consisted of the two places Oberiglbach and Unteriglbach . Both places are northwest of Ortenburg. State road St 2117 leads through the Unteriglbach district.

history

The name Iglbach appears for the first time in a document from the middle of the 12th century. An altman de igilpach is mentioned there. The distinction between Ober- and Unteriglbach does not exist until the 14th century.

In 1808 the Iglbach tax district was formed in the Vilshofen district court . With the second municipal edict of 1818, the municipalities of Oberiglbach and Unteriglbach came into being, which were merged in 1821 to form the municipality of Iglbach, which encompasses 41 districts.

On October 1, 1970, the Iglbach community merged with the neighboring community of Söldenau to form the new community of Wolfachau . This municipality was dissolved in the course of the municipal reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978 and incorporated into the Ortenburg market.
