Ignacio Noguer Carmona (born January 13, 1931 in Seville , † October 3, 2019 in Huelva ) was a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Huelva .

Life

Ignacio Noguer Carmona was ordained a priest on June 17, 1956 after his theological training . In 1961 he became rector of the new Pilas seminary. In 1966 he became rector of the Grand Seminary of Seville. In 1971 he was appointed episcopal vicar.

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Guadix on September 10, 1976 . The Archbishop of Seville , José María Cardinal Bueno y Monreal , donated him episcopal ordination on October 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Emilio Benavent Escuín , Archbishop of Granada , and Gabino Díaz Merchán , Archbishop of Oviedo .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Huelva on October 19, 1990 . After Rafael González Moralejo's retirement , he succeeded him on October 27, 1993 as Bishop of Huelva. On July 17, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.

He was President of the Episcopal Commission for Migration and a member of the Permanent Commission of the Spanish Bishops' Conference as well as delegate of the Southern Bishops in matters of the seminaries of the ecclesiastical provinces of Granada and Seville. He was a member of the Episcopal Commission for Education and Universities in two different periods.
