José Vilaplana Blasco (born December 5, 1944 in Benimarfull , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Huelva .

Life

José Vilaplana Blasco received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Valencia on May 25, 1972 .

November 20, 1984 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Bladia and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Valencia. The Archbishop of Valencia, Miguel Roca Cabanellas , ordained him episcopal on December 27th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Oviedo , Gabino Díaz Merchán , and the Bishop of Huelva, Rafael González Moralejo .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Santander on August 23, 1991 . On July 17, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Huelva. The inauguration took place on September 23 of the same year.

On June 15, 2020, Pope Francis accepted José Vilaplana Blasco's resignation due to reasons of age.
