Ignatius Menezes

Ignatius Menezes (born January 3, 1936 in Agra ) is Bishop Emeritus of Ajmer .

Life

Ignatius Menezes was ordained a priest on April 14, 1963 . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ajmer and Jaipur on November 15, 1978 .

The old bishop of Ajmer and Jaipur, Leo D'Mello , consecrated him on February 17th of the following year; Co- consecrators were Cecil DeSa , Bishop of Lucknow , and Patrick Paul D'Souza , Bishop of Varanasi .

On November 3, 2012, Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Ignatius Menezes for reasons of age. The Pope appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Allahabad on January 31, 2013 .
