The Roman Catholic Diocese of Lucknow ( lat. : Dioecesis Lucknovensis ) is in India situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Lucknow .
history
The diocese of Lucknow was on January 12, 1940 by Pope Pius XII. built from cessions of territory by the Archdiocese of Agra and the Diocese of Allahabad . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Agra as a suffragan . On January 19, 1989, the diocese of Lucknow gave parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Bareilly .
