Igor Ivanovich Tkachev

Igor Ivanovich Tkatschow ( Russian Игорь Иванович Ткачёв ; born January 12, 1957 in Arensburg ) is an Estonian - Russian astrophysicist and university professor .

Life

Tkachev graduated from the physical faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MGU) with completion in 1980. This was followed by postgraduate study , on completion of which he 1983 researcher at the Moscow Institute for Nuclear Research (IJaI) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN SSSR, since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)). In 1985 he defended his candidate dissertation on phase transitions in theories of the Big Bang and the early universe . In 2006, after defending his dissertation on quantum and classical effects in the formation of particles in the early universe, he received his doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences . In the same year he was elected a corresponding member of the RAN. Since 2012 he has headed the department for experimental physics at the IJaI. In 2016 he was elected a full member of RAN.

Tkachev's scientific work focuses on the early stages of the universe after the Big Bang. The main focus of work was the consequences of the general theory of relativity , Kolmogorow - turbulence in the processes of the Bose-Einstein condensation and the setting of the thermodynamic equilibrium . He predicted and investigated nonthermal phase transitions. He also predicted exotic star-sized particles .

Tkachev is involved in the Laboratory for Cosmology and Elementary Particles at the University of Novosibirsk (NGU) and is a member of the theoretical department at CERN . In addition to his research activities, Tkachev teaches at the MGU and at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MFTI). He is the author or co-author of many scientific publications. His stag index is 42.

Tkachev is a member of the July 1st Club - a group of academicians who protested in 2013 against a bill to reform the RAN by replacing the RAN with a new Academy of Sciences. As a result, the RAN was not replaced by a new academy.
