Igor Matlachow ( Russian Игорь Матлахов , English transcription Igor Matlakhov ; born October 20, 1987 in Mahiljou ) is a Belarusian biathlete .

Igor Matlachow is a student and lives in Mahiljou. He starts for Dinamo Mahiljou and is supervised by the coaches Perepechkin and Kozlov. He started biathlon in 2000 and has been a member of the Belarus national team since 2006. Since 2004 he has participated in the races of the Biathlon European Cup for Juniors. In Kontiolahti , the Belarusian competed in the Junior World Championships for the first time in 2005 and finished 53rd in the sprint, not finishing the pursuit race. The following year Matlachow took part in the Junior Biathlon European Championships 2006 in Langdorf and was seventh in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, 15th in the pursuit and sixth in the relay. This was followed by participation in the junior competitions of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2006 in Ufa . The Belarusian finished eleventh in the sprint cross-country competitions and won the bronze medal behind the teams from Russia and Ukraine with Iryna Babezkaja , Nadseja Skardsina and Vadsim Zwetau as the final runner of the relay. In 2007 he took part in a Junior World Championship for the second time. In Martell he reached the ranks 44 in the individual, 56 in the sprint and 45 in the pursuit, with the relay he was also ninth. the last international junior championship was the 2007 Biathlon European Championships in Bansko , where Matlachow was seventh in the individual, won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Dominik Landertinger and Anton Schipulin , fell back to eleventh place in the pursuit race and another medal with the relay just missed out on fourth place.

His first international championship in men ran Matlachow at the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2009 in Nové Město na Moravě . In the sprint he ran to 34th place, with Iryna Babezkaja , Hanna Zwetawa and Wadsim Zwetau he just missed a medal against the Czech Republic by four seconds, finishing fourth in the relay.
