Ihar Iossifawitsch Schwedau ( Belarusian Ігар Іосіфавіч Шведаў , Russian Игорь Иосифович Шведов / Igor Iosifovich Shvedov * 6. March 1987 in Navapolatsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player who since 2009 when HC SHAKHTYOR SOLIGORSK in the Belarusian Extraliga is under contract.

Career

Ihar Schwedau began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with Chimik-SKA Nawapolazk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Belarusian extra league in the 2005/06 season . After two more years with Chimik, the defender was signed by HK Dinamo Minsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League in summer 2008 , for which he only played seven games before moving to their city rivals, the reigning Belarusian champions HK Keramin Minsk , in the he finished playing time.

Since the 2009/10 season Schwedau has been playing for HK Schachzjor Salihorsk in the extra league .

International

For Belarus , Schwedau took part in the U18 Junior B World Championship in 2005 and the U20 Junior B World Championship in 2006 . He was also part of Belarus' squad at the 2007 U20 World Junior Championship .
