Ikast is a Danish town in the center of the Midtjylland region in Jutland . It is located about twelve kilometers east of the city of Herning and has a population of 15,662 (as of January 1, 2020).
Until December 2006 Ikast was the administrative seat of the Ikast municipality . Since January 2007 it has been the seat of the administration of the newly formed Ikast-Brande municipality .
Sports
The Ikast FS is one of the most famous football clubs in Denmark. The blue and yellow rose in 1979 for the first time in the Danish first division.
