Ildebrando D'Arcangelo

Ildebrando D'Arcangelo (born December 14, 1969 in Pescara , Italy ) is an Italian opera singer with baritone and bass voices .

Life

D'Arcangelo began his vocal studies in 1985 with Maria Vittoria Romano and then continued with Paride Venturi in Bologna . He sings at well-known opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York , the Scala in Milan , the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London , the Opéra National de Paris , the Lyric Opera in Chicago , the Vienna State Opera , in the theater the Vienna and at the Salzburg Festival .

In 1989 and 1991 he won the Toti dal Monte International Competition.

In June 2009 he signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon in Hamburg . On his first CD for this label he sang arias by Georg Friedrich Handel . The CD was released at the end of August 2009. Another CD with arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was released at the end of April 2011.

In December 2014 he was awarded the title of Austrian Chamber Singer .
