Ildefonso Obama Obono (born May 6, 1938 in Puerto Iradier ) is retired Archbishop of Malabo .

Life

Ildefonso Obama Obono was ordained a priest on June 29, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ebebiyin on October 15, 1982 .

The Pope personally donated his episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Eduardo Martínez Somalo , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples .

On July 9, 1991, he was named Archbishop of Malabo .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on February 11, 2015.
